A reflection of our surroundings.
What’s in the name OAK + CRU?
In addition to paying tribute to the ample amount of oak used throughout the restaurant’s interior “Oak” also speaks to the oak references found in the wine making process and Cru” is a French wine term that translates to growth. Cru” also draws parallels to farming and the growth of the abundant Okanagan produce.
OAK + CRU Social Kitchen and Wine Bar draws its inspiration from the bounty of the Okanagan Valley, which includes over 250 wineries (30 locally) and an abundance of local food producers and artisans. Located on the water and in the heart of downtown Kelowna, our guests can enjoy the energy and passion of a well-trained team while they venture on a culinary journey with spectacular views of Lake Okanagan.
Menu concepts are built on the unique and modern presentation of globally inspired cuisine with a farm to table twist. The 6,000 pound signature Fire Deck oven provides the anchor for the menu content. Every menu item will be inspiring and modern in craft, pairing well with the valley’s best vintages.
The culinary team is led by Executive Chef Iain Rennie, core member of Culinary Team Canada - 2016 Culinary Olympics.
OAK + CRU was designed by world-class designers mackaywong who have designed some of Canada’s top restaurants and bars such as Montecito Restaurant and Wayne Gretzky’s in Toronto.

Inspired By The Valley
This piece was conceived to reflect the intrinsic beauty found in the landscape of the Okanagan Valley. Based on classic imagery of the region, each wooden stump has been handpainted in the vibrant colours of the area. The hanging structure is presented in a grid pattern to mimic the manmade landscapes of the vineyards of the Okanagan. Reflective sections were also incorporated into the work allowing viewers to immerse themselves into the beauty of this special place.
