Executive Chef

Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort is thrilled to announce Daniel Craig as the new Executive Chef of the spectacular 392 room resort in the heart of downtown Kelowna.  Chef Daniel joins us from the Ritz Carlton Toronto where he has been the Executive Chef for the past year.

Chef Daniel’s passion for cooking began at the early age of 12, working in his friend’s parent’s café for a number of years in Ontario. He left for Victoria, BC when he was 18, where he apprenticed at the Fairmont Empress and the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe. Chef graduated with honors from Camosun College in Victoria, then packed his bags to work and compete internationally. During his travels, Chef Daniel was the first Canadian Chef to bring home a gold medal from the prestigious Chaine des Rotisseurs Jeune Chef Concours in 2006.

Chef Daniel returned to Canada and was part of the opening team of the Delta Burnaby in 2008, the youngest Executive Chef in the history of Delta Hotels.  He then headed back East to open the Delta Toronto, Delta’s flagship hotel with the highly successful SOCO Kitchen + Bar, as Executive Chef before moving to the Ritz Carlton in 2016. During his tenure as Executive Chef, he has won many awards, including the Marriott ACE Award for Best Executive Chef in 2017 and BC Chef of the Year in 2014. Chef Daniel also holds a place with Team Canada in the 2019 Bocuse d’Or international competition.

“We are excited to have Chef Dan taking the helm of the culinary team at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort. His style of honoring classic dishes, while promoting tastes that are fresh, relevant and innovative will be a perfect alignment with the culinary team’s passion to explore the amazing food and beverage ingredients we have in the Okanagan Valley” says Mark Jeanes, Director of Food and Beverage.

Chef Daniel Craig, his wife Shanna and their two young children are delighted to move to the Okanagan Valley.  Chef Daniel joined the team at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort on Monday, January 8th, 2018.
